Maturín, 21.08.17 (Prensa Regional MPPS).- El Ministerio del Poder Popular para la Salud (MPPS), atendiendo las políticas asistenciales impulsadas por el Presidente Nicolás Maduro materializó la entrega de 31 bultos de medicamentos para el Programa de VIH/SIDA e Infecciones de Transmisión Sexual (ITS), adscrito al Instituto Único de Salud del estado Monagas (InsaMonagas), como parte de las estrategias del ente sanitario para garantizar la atención integral a los pacientes que padecen esta enfermedad.
Así lo explicó el coordinador regional del programa Dr. Marino Placeres, quien expuso además que el Gobierno Bolivariano “está garantizando la atención y el tratamiento gratuito, universal y oportuno a las personas que viven con VIH para que logren su reinserción a la sociedad”.
El galeno aseguró que llegaron los diferentes medicamentos o fármacos antivirales para el tratamiento de infecciones por retrovirus, indicado en personas con VIH.
“Con estos insumos que nos llegaron estaremos garantizando la atención a los 3.680 pacientes que retiran medicamentos en el servicio, procedentes de todo el estado Monagas, a quienes les garantizamos su atención médica oportuna para mantener su salud integral”, dijo.
En otro orden de ideas explicó el funcionario de salud que en el último semestre hubo 108 casos nuevos de VIH, lo que representa una disminución en un 20%, con relación al pasado año predominando la incidencia de la enfermedad en el sexo masculino entre los 15 y 44 años de edad. Dijo que huno seis embarazas nuevas, que no acudieron al programa a tiempo para prevenir la enfermedad en los infantes.
Finalmente explicó el galeno coordinador del programa ITS-SIDA en Monagas, que las actividades relacionadas a la conmemoración del Día Mundial de la Lucha contra el SIDA, se cumplió sin contratiempos en la entidad, al igual que las jornadas de socialización y formación que se realizan en todas las instituciones educativas y empresa privada en la que se promueve la prevención en todas las áreas de la sociedad.
