A casi 3 años de haberse iniciado los trabajos de rehabilitación de la planta potabilizadora de agua de Mundo Nuevo, ubicada en la parroquia Urica municipio Freites, en el estado Anzoátegui, limite con el estado Monagas, este viernes la gobernadora revolucionaria Yelitza Santaella inauguro esta importante obra que va a beneficiar a 771 mil habitantes de ambos estados orientales.
Durante un pase en cadena nacional con el presidente Nicolás Maduro, la mandataria regional explicó muy emocionada todo el proceso de funcionamiento de la misma, indicando a su vez que esta obra es un regalo de cumpleaños para el presidente Hugo Chávez, quien siempre estuvo pendiente y preocupado por esta región.
“Hoy nos encontramos muy felices porque este fue un proyecto que el presidente Nicolás maduro aprobó durante un gobierno de calle y en esa asamblea el diputado Diosdado Cabello le presento el proyecto y él como buen soldado del comandante Chávez, siempre pendiente de este estado, aprobó estos recursos y en el año 2014 comienza la rehabilitación de esta planta que va a favores a 771 mil habitantes entre el estado Anzoátegui y Monagas, por eso este es el mejor regalo que hoy le estamos dando al comandante Chávez en sus 63 años”.
La planta de Mundo Nuevo tiene capacidad de 2 mil litros por segundo, y ya hoy, gracias a la puesta en funcionamiento se están tratando 1000 litros de agua por segundo, surtiendo con el vital liquido a gran parte del estado Monagas como las parroquias San Vicente, El Corozo, El Furrial, Jusepín y Alto de Los Godos en el municipio Maturín, al municipio Cedeño, en Ezequiel Zamora las parroquias El Tejero y Punta de Mata.
Proceso de tratamiento
En el año 2012 esta planta salió de uso por la crecida del rio Amana, por donde en más de una oportunidad camino el presidente Hugo Chávez. En ese entonces, el rio devastó prácticamente la tubería.
“Se coloco una tubería de 36 pulgadas, la cual requirió una inversión de mas de 2 millardos 214 millones de bolívares, efectuados a través del ministerio del poder popular para Ecosocialismo y Habitad; allí ya cuando el agua sube y llega a los dos tanques que están en altura, es donde comienza de inmediato el trabajo de tratamiento, ya que el liquido llega con impurezas. Luego del procesamiento la conectamos en un tanque azul donde se le aplican todos lo químicos necesarios para el tratamiento que posteriormente pasa a los dos cedimentadores para pasar por 6 filtros los cuales tienen todo el material para tratarla y darle el uso adecuado” explicó la gobernadora.
Luego del procesamiento, el agua esta apta para ser surtida a los municipios como en Anzoátegui la Parroquia Urica, en la cual se han rehabilitado 114 kilómetros de tubería entre 48 y 56 pulgadas; pasando a su vez al municipio Exequiel Zamora del estado Monagas.

La Gobernadora de Monagas Yelitza Santaella recorrió la planta potabilizadora de agua de Mundo Nuevo en compañía del alcalde del municipio Freites Daniel Aro, del alcalde el municipio Ezequiel Zamora, Raúl Brazon, el general de la Zodi Monagas, Ovidio delgado, el director del ministerio del ambiente Heberto solarte, el presidente de aguas de Monagas Isrrael Ramírez y habitantes de la zona.
Feliz Cumpleaños Presidente Chávez
Como bien lo indicó la gobernadora Santaella durante el pase televisivo, la inauguración de esta planta es un regalo para el presidente Chávez con ocasión de su cumpleaños numero 63. Por ello, al culminar la actividad, canto el tradicional “Cumpleaños Feliz” en compañía de las personalidades presentes en el lugar y con una torta dedicada al líder eterno de la revolución bolivariana.
