| Romer Badell / Prensa Gobernación de Monagas.- Veinticinco nuevas consultas de cesación tabáquica abrirán este lunes 31 de octubre en todo el estado Monagas luego de la formación, capacitación y adiestramiento realizado por el Instituto Único de Salud del estado Monagas (InsaMonagas) a los galenos de la entidad quienes tendrán ahora la responsabilidad de atender a la población susceptible del consumo de tabaco.
Este jueves culminó la formación al batallón de batas blancas que estará al frente de esta actividad de la mano de la médico especialista Luisa Larez, quien junto al equipo del doctor Cilio Guerra, Coordinador estadal del programa Cardiovascular, Renal, Endocrino – Metabólico y Tabaco (Caremt), la Coordinadora Docente Regional Anti Tabáquico, Yumir Ortega, Juan Carlos Mata Coordinador médico del Programa Cesación Tabáquica y Héctor Chaurán del Servicio Autónomo de Contraloría Sanitaria, promovieron los beneficios, leyes y alcances de la apertura de las consultas en la entidad.
La médico pionera de estas consultas en el ambulatorio urbano Concepción Mariño, Larez explicó que de los 100 pacientes que acuden anualmente a la consulta 45 han dejado de fumar, y el resto sigue en tratamiento para dejar la adicción, “porque sencillamente le brindamos asistencia a las y los fumadores que deseen superar la adicción al tabaco, ya que está demostrado que sólo 3% de los que lo intentan por sus propios medios siguen sin fumar 5 años después”.
Aseguró la especialista que con estas nuevas consultas de cesación tabáquica, servirá para apuntalar las estadísticas de morbi-mortalidad de pacientes que tendrán ahora una herramienta médica y asistencia para dejar de fumar por sí mismos.
Por su parte el Cilio Guerra, Coordinador estadal del programa Cardiovascular, Renal, Endocrino – Metabólico y Tabaco (Caremt), aseguró que la atención va orientada en la educación y cambio de hábito para hacerle entender a los que padecen esta adicción que la “nicotina los está matando”, por lo que apelan a la conciencia ciudadana por los daños que están causando no solo al fumadores, sino a su entorno social.
Por su parte la Coordinadora Docente Regional Anti Tabáquico, Sumir Ortega, destacó que ya se inició el ciclo de charlas en los liceos, toda vez que tres de cada cuatro fumadores, conscientes de los peligros del tabaco, quieren dejar de fumar, “por eso a través de la educación y tratamientos conductuales iniciaremos esta cruzada para atender a la población en diferentes áreas para lograr que llegue el mensaje y lograr disminuir la incidencia de jóvenes fumadores en los liceos y escuelas”, dijo.
El estado Monagas contará con 25 nuevos espacios para atender la adicción al tabaco y tratar sus consecuencias.
