Cinco minutos después, el arquero monaguense Ángel Hernández se vistió de héroe y le atajó un penal al experimentado Gerzon Chacón evitando un hipotético empate y dándole más confianza a los de casa.
La primera mitad culminó con un Monagas Sport Club dominador, que inquietó en varias oportunidades el área rival.
En la segunda parte, “Cariaco” González tomó más protagonismo con el balón. Al 53 realizó un desborde por banda izquierda para habilitar a Jesús “Piojo” Quintero quien batió las redes para ampliar la cuenta 2-0. Al 66 se repitió la combinación González-Quintero para el 3-0.
Con el partido sentenciado, los monaguenses se hicieron con el balón y mantuvieron la diferencia en el marcador, hasta el minuto 70 cuando del ariete Armando Maita aprovechó un despiste de Liebeskind y anotó el 4-0 definitivo.
“Fuimos contundentes y esta vez la pelota entró y a pesar de que no contamos con tantas oportunidades claras como en otros compromisos, tuvimos mayor efectividad en el ataque”, declaró Luis González una vez terminado el cotejo.
El Monagas Sport Club volverá a los entrenamientos este lunes para preparar el partido ante Mineros de Guayana, correspondiente a la fecha 7 del Torneo Clausura que se jugará el próximo miércoles a partir de las 7:00 de la noche en el CTE Cachamay de Puerto Ordaz.
