En Monagas se dio inicio a la Semana
de Vacunación de las Américas
Al menos 218 centros de vacunación fueron habilitados para esta jornada en todo el estado Monagas
Con el apoyo de la Gobernación revolucionaria de Monagas, la Dirección Regional de Salud, a través de la Dirección Regional de Epidemiología, dio inicio este domingo 24 de abril hasta el 1ero de mayo de la Semana de Vacunación de Las Américas para completar e inmunizar a la población susceptible menor de seis años de edad.
La actividad se llevó a cabo en las instalaciones del hospital Simón Bolívar, en la parroquia La Cruz de Maturín y contó con la presencia de la gobernadora Yelitza Santaella, la autoridad Única en Salud de la región, Dra. Aurora Nava, Leonardo Jayaro, secretario del poder popular para los Sectores Estratégicos y demás autoridades regionales.
Santaella manifestó la importancia de esta jornada y la responsabilidad que tiene los padres en llevar a sus hijos a vacunar.
“En el día de hoy estamos dando inicio a esta jornada que tiene como finalidad llegar a todos los hogares de la patria donde exista un niño y poder protegerlo de distintas enfermedades”.
La autoridad única en salud informó que la meta en el estado Monagas asciende a unos 5.856 niños menores de seis años, de los cuales se ha cubierto el 61% en la precampaña realizada en las poblaciones cautivas (Centro de Educación Inicial CEI o preescolares) y comunidades indígenas de la región.
Para esta actividad se encuentran habilitados los 218 centros de vacunación en toda la entidad, para que las madres, padres y responsables acudan desde tempranas horas de la mañana con su niño y el carnet de vacunación para protegerlos.
Nava señaló que al estado Monagas llegaron 23.153 vacunas para completar la dotación de biológico para esta actividad e informó que el objetivo de esta jornada es erradicar la poliomielitis, por lo que se estarán aplicando la antipolio y otras ocho vacunas para prevenir diferentes enfermedades.
Destacó que con este plan de prevención que arrancó en la parroquia La Cruz se tiene previsto atender a toda la población infantil del estado Monagas.
