Tres atletas monaguenses serán evaluados por la comisión técnica nacional de Judo a fin de asegurar su cupo al Panamericano de esta disciplina, tras haber alcanzado medalla de bronce durante el Campeonato Nacional “Copa Yelitza Santaella” que se efectuó en la capital monaguense durante el fin de semana.
El presidente de la Asociación Monaguense de Judo, William Lunar, señaló que Ivania Palmares (78 Kgs), Norberto Arias (100 Kgs) y Lupo Cinco (+100 Kgs) quedaron terceros en el medallero, con dos combates ganados y dos perdidos. Los locales se ganaron así el derecho de ir al campo de preparación en Yaracuy, previsto a mediados del presente mes, donde serán chequeados en lo que se refiere al aspecto técnico de su desempeño y definir su cupo al evento internacional por realizarse en Cuba, a finales de abril.
El sensei confirmó complacido que la local Emileidys López clasificó directamente luego de haber alcanzado el oro en los +78 Kgs al imponerse a las representantes de Yaracuy y Apure, en dos combates seguidos en los que obtuvo una puntuación de 1-0 y 5-1 , respectivamente; la local se mantiene así en la Selección Nacional para el próximo ciclo olímpico.
Miranda lideró la puntuación, seguido muy de cerca por Carabobo mientras que Monagas quedó en tercer lugar en femenino y ocupó el séptimo escalafón en masculino. Otros dos judokas que empujaron los puntos locales fueron Gerardo Sánchez (60 Kgs) y José Meneses (73 Kgs), quienes obtuvieron quinto lugar en sus respectivos pesos.
Lunar agradeció el apoyo brindado por la gobernadora del estado, Yelitze Santaella, a través del Instituto del Deporte del estado Monagas (Indem), para la realización del Campeonato en el que participaron 200 atletas de 16 estados.
“Estamos muy satisfechos por la realización del encuentro, que contó con el aval de la Federación Venezolana de Judo. Su presidente, Ronald Salazar nos manifestó su complacencia por el alto nivel de organización”, precisó el directivo de esta disciplina.
