Efectivos de la Policía del estado Monagas, adscritos a la estación Las Cocuizas, realizaron la detención de una pareja que maltrataba y se aprovechaba de sus hijos menores de edad, según denunciaron sus vecinos del sector Vuelta Larga, en la parroquia La Pica de Maturín.
Así lo informó el coronel (GNB) José González Espín, director de Polimonagas y secretario de Seguridad Ciudadana, quien señaló que ambos sujetos fueron puestos a la orden de la Fiscalía Novena del Ministerio Público por delitos tipificados en la Ley Orgánica para la Protección de Niños, Niñas y Adolescentes (Lopnna).
Los detenidos fueron identificados como Robert José Valverde, de 24 años de edad, y Detsy del Valle Aguilar Pérez, de 32, quienes fueron señalados por residentes del sector Bolivariano de Vuelta Larga de maltrato infantil.
“Según la denuncia, los individuos obligaban a sus hijos a pedir dinero en la calle y los golpeaban si regresaban sin nada e incluso se conoció que hasta vendieron los útiles escolares y los uniformes que el gobierno les entregó a estos menores”, explicó González Espín.
El director de Polimonagas reiteró su llamado a las comunidades a unirse a la lucha contra el maltrato infantil, denunciando ante las autoridades respectivas los casos que pudieran presentarse en sus localidades para actuar con la celeridad necesaria.
